The major characteristics of Enterprise are identified. Opportunities and opportunity-spotting are explored and the reasons why people choose to act entrepreneurially are presented. The features of risk and its assessment are put forward. Throughout the lesson, important questions are raised for students to explore and there are students' exercises.
Understanding Enterprise
This lesson introduces four ways to understand what entrepreneurs know and do.
- The things they do – how they function
- How enterprising activity can grow out of an economic context
- The traits, personal qualities and characteristics enterprising people have
- The venture creation process
Throughout the lesson, important questions are raised for students to explore. There are also exercises for students to undertake.
Understanding Venture Projects
This lesson introduces students to the process of undertaking ventures. It lays out nine key tasks which are important in the development of Enterprise Capability:

5. Devising a marketing strategy
6. Making a risk assessment
